Now, my follow up post to my politcal awareness thing:

What kind of people should be qualified to hold public office:

I know that I'm some sort of military freak, and that I'll probably make only military-qualified people to run public office, but its for a reason:

The military teaches discipline, honor, patriotism. To join the military means that you are willing to sacrifice your life for your country, and therefore willing to represent the people that you are protecting. If you can't sacrifice your life for your people, what the fuck are you doing trying to lead them?

But there's also the extent of what rank you'll have to reach in the military before you are qualified for a specific public office. here it is:

Private - bean counters. the workforce of bueracrats (of those we hope to eliminate in the military)
Coporal - stuff
Specialist - Consultant?
Seargent - Supers

Officers:
LT.(anyone know how to spell lieutenant? i sure as hell don't): Head of a branch of a minor government agency
Captain: Head of a major branch of a government agency. Can also be mayors
Colonel: Same as captain, but a bigger government agency. Elects to Congress and Senate
Generals: JCS, SoCom, the works. Head of major branches of the military, as well as the Chairman, President, Dictator, Fuherh, whatever you want...

Yea...

On the political awareness in America:

I dont' know if you all watch CNN from time to time, and have seen their reporters go out to the streets of major metropolitan cities and ask questions about pressing issues in our society. Some of the results are quite stunning, if not concerning: Over 1/4 of the people could not point out Afghanistan on the map, a low percentage thinks that Bush Snr. is currently in the Presidential office, and many do not know how abortions are done.

And yet these are the people who elect representatives to Congress. It is Congress, who controls the money, have the power to wage wars. I don't know what those hick senators are thinking, but they should not fund Bush's war on terroism, because its just plain fucking stupid. Bush's war is one big political and economical scam so that he can further his own agenda. Is a war on Iraq necessary? Has Iran attacked anyone for 20 years? Hasn't North Korea been pretty silent and well-behaved for the past few years?

And yet, Bush is able to carry out these accusations because our citizens are so damn stupid. We have white trash hicks in the South celebrating the 4th of July with fireworks made in China, but they probably don't know what the first 10 Amendments are called. How about other who just don't give a damn about the government, calling everyone a 'damn bureaucrat' and 'pigs'. Well, those people aren't helping by electing stupid people to Congress. And if they don't vote, fine - since you do not choose to excersize your freedom, get the fuck out and move to Iraq, so you can live under a dictator. See if we give a fuck.
